R E L A T I O N S H I P S
Grand Opening Exhibition, 2018 March 23 - April 21
In today’s world, while technology greatly facilitates people to connect with each other, the fabric of human relationships seems to have been diluted. Yet, social scientists have come to the conclusion that quality relationships and strong social connections are important factors in human being’s happiness.

BELIEVE, Jin Zuo
Acrylic on canvas
If we do believe,
what are we afraid of confronting?
If we desire more,
what are we risk losing?
R E L A T I O N S H I P S also investigates themes of complicated human connection with others. It depicts complexities and intricacies of human feelings, as well as multidimensional depth and multi-façade nature of love relationships. It echos with the thought that all seamless relationships and selfless love are maintained by a subtle balance of mutual tolerance, compromise, and sometimes sacrifice.
This joint exhibition of Jin Zuo and Corno is an exploration of human relationships with oneself and others. Calling for reflection, insight, perhaps resonance, and even questioning, we hope viewing this exhibition feels like an intimate journey of self-discovery and revelation that one can take forward after leaving the show.
R E L A T I O N S H I P S is a multifaceted exploration of human relationship with oneself. It encourages viewers to embark on an intimate self-study of their subconscious state of mind, as well as its relationship with consciousness.

BALANCE, Jin Zuo
Acrylic on canvas
Balance is challenging.
It is knowing
when to give,
and when to take, in all regards.

THE BOX, Jin Zuo
Acrylic on canvas
Observe the subtle relationship between what we think is out of our element and
what we can influence.
Question is, do we really know what we want to influence?
Select works shown in R E L A T I O N S H I P S exhibition are published by C9 ART in the art catalog under the same name.
In quest of rationalizing each individual’s interrelation with mass society, R E L A T I O N S H I P S boarders on concepts of multi-culture environment, participation in decision making, and power of speech.
